11 of The Best Lego Sets for Mother’s Day
It’s Mother’s Day and you’re looking for a non-traditional gift that you (or your mom) can enjoy and continue to enjoy past this one day. And, if you’re here, they’re likely a crafter or love to do puzzles, build things, or already love legos! To make shopping easier and help them get a gift they’ll love, I’ve compiled a quick list of some of the best Lego sets for Mother’s Day!
Before you dive right in, there are a few things to remember when shopping for Legos. First, you want to make sure you’re paying attention to the difficulty level. If you’re new to Legos, you might want to work on a shorter/smaller build rather than tackling a huge 3-month project (we’re shopping for moms after all, they might not be able to finish it in one sitting).
You should also consider their interests. Do they love Harry Potter? Maybe they like Friends. Or, maybe, they would appreciate a build that they can easily display in the house – like small succulents or a flower bouquet.

The Best Lego Sets for Mother’s Day This Year
There are hundreds of Lego sets to pick from, all in different styles, and themes, and at different difficulties. While I’m going to try and add a variety of designs, remember that this list is also to help kickstart your imagination and lead you to the perfect gift.
If the mom in your life loves Legos, but might be interested in learning a new hobby, I highly suggest reading through some of the best hobbies for moms to find some ideas!
Let’s look at the best Lego sets you can get for Mother’s Day this year:
#1. LEGO Bonsai Tree Building Set

The reason I suggest and love the LEGO Bonsai Tree Set is because it comes with two different display options – the traditional green leaves and the cherry blossoms! Plus, it’s a beautiful set-up that you can display and tend to in the house after it’s built.
The LEGO Bonsai Tree is a part of the adult Botanical Collection, which will come up later in the list. It has great reviews and a very easy-to-follow instructions guide. The kit also includes a bit of history related to the caring for and trimming of Bonsai trees, making it a very interactive option for Mother’s Day.
#2. LEGO Ideas Vincent Van Gogh Starry Night

Lots of small pieces and lots of repetition, but nothing overly complicated in the LEGO Ideas Vincent Van Gogh Starry Night build. This is honestly one of the most aesthetically pleasing Lego sets, but you’re definitely going to be spending a log of time piecing it together!
The LEGO Ideas Vincent Van Gogh Starry Night set is a part of the LEGO Ideas theme and was in collaboration with New York City’s Museum of Art. The instruction manual shares a lot of information about Vincent van Gogh and Starry Night, making it another set that’s more than just a LEGO build.
#3. LEGO Icon Succulents

I really love this LEGO Icons Succulent build set because it comes with multiple different succulents to build! You can work slowly and build each LEGO succulent individually and add them on as you go or you can sit down and do it all at once. This adaptability is what makes it a great option for moms this Mother’s Day!
The LEGO Icons Succulent is a part of the LEGO Botanical collection and is made to be displayed once completed. You can also move around how your succulents are placed, allowing for even more customizability.
#4. FRIENDS Central Perk LEGO Building Kit

Maybe it’s me or maybe it’s moms in general, but I love to binge-watch an old show! Friends was one of my favorites (and my moms, and my sister – who is also a mom now) so I feel the LEGO FRIENDS Central Perk Building Kit deserved a good mention on the list.
This build is a bit more complicated, I would recommend only gifting to moms who are familiar with LEGOs and their builds and are able to sit down and put some time behind their hobby. There are also a lot of pieces in this one, so be considerate of the space available – gifting someone something they can’t use or do can be extremely frustrating, no matter how cool it is.
Psssst…. A good workaround of not being familiar with LEGOs is offering to sit down and do it with her! Spend some time together doing the build for Mother’s Day!
#5. LEGO Harry Potter Expecto Patronum

Moms like Harry Potter too! And if the mom in your life loves Harry Potter, then this is one of the best Lego sets for Mother’s Day! The LEGO Harry Potter Expecto Patronum Building Set earned its spot because it was less difficult than the Hogwarts Express or Hogwarts (and wouldn’t take nearly as long to build) and can be built as two different Patronus!
This Lego build has posable legs and an integrated display, meaning it’s an easy one to put around the house and let mom be proud of her hard work. Plus, you also get two minifigures: Professor Remus Lupin and Harry Potter.
#6. LEGO Icons Dried Flower Centerpiece

Another from the LEGO Botanical Collection, the LEGO Icons Dried Flower Centerpiece is a great option for Mother’s Day! It features artificial flowers with roses and gerberas and it’s perfect as a table or wall decoration – a great alternative when there’s not a lot of space to display her builds!
Unlike the other kits, this floral LEGO set is fall-themed and features much warmer colors, a great alternative for moms who don’t love bold or cold colors in their homes. It also has a split design, making it easy for two people to work on it together, and makes it a perfect Mother’s Day bonding project.
#7. LEGO Disney and Pixar ‘UP’ House

Although not technically an adult Lego build, the LEGO Disney and Pixar ‘Up’ House for Disney’s 100 Celebration is a great gift for a Disney or Pixar-loving mama! It’s not as difficult as some of the other sets on the list, which makes it a great option for a mama who may be new to LEGOS.
This build set has fewer Legos involved than many of the others on the list and still comes with plenty of extras – like a Carl, Doug, and Russell Minifigure. And, while you can’t see it in the picture above, you get to build the interior of the house too!
#8. LEGO Walt Disney Tribute Camera

I thought this was one of the coolest LEGO builds for Disney fans! The Lego Walt Disney Tribute Camera is a collectible piece perfect for play and display! You get to make a Disney ‘100’ style movie camera and collect some of Disney’s old characters – like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Bambi, and Dumbo.
This kit also goes beyond the normal in its add-ons. The booklet it comes with is filled with details about Disney, the camera itself, and the set it builds. And, of course, it comes with full step-by-step instructions.
#9. LEGO Ideas The Insect Collection

For the moms who love the outdoors and gardening, but maybe wouldn’t love the Botanical set, try the LEGO Ideas Insect Collection! It comes with three different builds: a butterfly, a praying mantis, and a beetle!
This is a great set for moms who might not have time to sit down and build a large set, but still love a good challenge when doing Legos. Plus, since there are three in the set, she can display them in different areas and do the kit as a team, giving another reason to introduce you to her hobby.
#10. LEGO Icons Flower Bouquet

Although simple, the LEGO Icons Flower Bouquet is one of the best Lego sets for Mother’s Day. It’s a great alternative to a classic Mother’s Day gift – the flower bouquet.
This Lego kit includes 15 different stems with flower and leaf varieties such as roses, snapdragons, poppies, asters, daisies, and grasses. She’ll be able to complete them all separately or sit down and do them all at once! Plus, it’ll make a truly beautiful and intriguing display in the house.
#11. LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Express – Collectors’ Edition

Let’s just say this one might be self-motivated, but it’s truly an amazing and memorable build that would be perfect for any mom who loves Legos and loves Harry Potter and the Wizarding World. The LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Express – Collectors’ Edition is definitely a complicated and time-consuming build, but it creates a realistic replica of the Hogwarts Express.
This kit has a little over 5,000 pieces, so it’s ideal for a mom who can make dedicated space to tackle this build. And, once she’s finished, make sure she’s able to display her hard work and dedication – she deserves it after putting this one together!
Other LEGO Sets to Try for Mother’s Day This Year…
While not as spectacular to earn their own space on the list, these LEGO builds still deserved a quick mention. I kept these as smaller kits that wouldn’t take too long to complete or would be perfect for a mom who is interested in Legos, but isn’t sure if she’ll love them just yet!
I hope you found the perfect Lego set to gift this Mother’s Day! Which one was your favorite? Let us know in the comments below!
