I won’t lie, crocheting has always been a mystery to me – although I absolutely love the things that you can create! Crocheting and embroidery are two hobbies for moms that I respect. They take skill, patience, and dedication to learning and completing a project. Now, even though I don’t know how to crochet, that doesn’t mean I can’t share some of the coolest crochet dinosaur patterns you can do!

This pattern is ranked as an intermediate crochet pattern and results in a dinosaur that is approximately 3″ x 6″ but can be adjusted to any size. You’ll need skills such as magic ring, chain, single crochet, increases, decreases, crocheting in the round, and slip stitch.

Another digital download delivered as a PDF pattern, this dinosaur is designed to feel like a hybrid between a blanket lovey and a stuffed toy. It’s perfect for tiny hands!
This dinosaur pattern is ranked advanced beginner to intermediate in difficulty. You’ll need 7mm and 8mm hooks and super bulk or category 6 yarn. The finished dino will be around 12 inches in size.
#4. Stegosaurus Crochet Pattern by SweetOddityArt
This Stegosaurus Crochet Pattern by SweetOddityArt was too cute to skip! This is a little bit more difficult than others on the list but is not the MOST difficult to complete. It’s also a bit bigger than others and measures in around 15 inches.
This dino crochet pattern is recommended as an intermediate pattern. The instructions are very easy to follow if you already know the basic crochet stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi. Your pattern is a PDF file that includes pictures to help you follow along. Unlike some of the other patterns, you will need fiberfill stuffing to complete.

I think the named crochet dinosaurs hold a special place in my heart, which is one of the reasons Travis the Triceratops Crochet Pattern by TheCrochetCodeAU made the list. As one of my top recommendations for a crochet dinosaur pattern, it comes with a full 22-page digital booklet with photos!
This pattern is not ranked for difficulty and does require toy stuffing, a tapestry needle, scissors, and sewing pins. You’ll also need 8-ply cotton or cotton blend yarn with a 3.25mm crochet hook. Your finished dinosaur will be 28 cm long, 17 cm wide, and 20 cm when sitting!
#6. Crochet Dino Sleeper Pattern by JuliaPyha
If you’re looking for a really cute sleeper dino, this is the one! This Crochet Dino Sleeper Pattern by JuliaPyha is a moderately difficult crochet pattern to tackle but looks like a lot of fun. You’ll get an immediate digital download as a PDF file with all the pattern instructions.
The creator of this pattern says that the required skill level is intermediate. To create this dinosaur you will need yarn, hooks size 4 mm and 1.9 mm, holo-fiber, scissors, and a needle. Your finished dino will be around 25 cm tall if you use the materials recommended in the pattern instructions.
#7. 3 in 1 Crochet Pattern Dinosaurs by AmiLandiaPatterns
This trio is the top pick out of all the crochet dinosaur patterns! As a set of three, this 3 in 1 Crochet Pattern Dinosaurs by AmiLandiaPatterns is a great hobby project for any mom. You’ll get a pattern for an ankylosaurus, parasaurolophus, and tyrannosaurus. It also comes with the patterns for the accessories in the picture (T.V., popcorn, etc).
There is no specific difficulty level provided, but you will have instructions that include the pin attachment of the head to make it moveable, jacquard crocheting, thread limbs jointing, and lots of photos to make the process easier. All of your dinos will stand from 3 inches to 4 inches tall.
#8. Hatching Triceratops Crochet Pattern by TANATIcrochet
I really appreciated that this dinosaur crochet pattern came with a dinosaur and a little egg/basket to go with it. This Hatching Triceratops Crochet Pattern by TANATIcrochet is one of the busier individual patterns to tackle.
The difficulty is meant for beginners in this dinosaur pattern. Your finished dinosaur will be around 6 inches tall – excluding the horns. You will need a 2.0 mm hook, soft stuffing, scissors, pink blush, safety eyes, buttons, pins, and a sewing needle.
#9. T-Rex Dino Carefree Dinosaur Crochet Pattern by TinyMiniDesign
A little less “cutesy” than others on the list, this T-Rex Dino Carefree Dinosaur Crochet Pattern by TinyMiniDesign is still a great dinosaur to work on. It also is one of the larger dinosaur patterns on the list – perfect if you’re not looking for a mini-dinosaur.

Another cute-named dinosaur pattern, this Charlie the Dinosaur Crochet Pattern by Emmashandcraft is a personal favorite. This is one of the average-sized dinosaurs that you can make too. It’s the perfect small amigurumi project!
This pattern does not have a specific difficulty rating. If crocheted using a 2.5mm hook with cotton yarn, your dinosaur will be around 12 cm. Additionally, you will need polyester fiberfill stuffing, a tapestry needle, pins, and black sewing thread.
#11. Roar-some Dinosaur Crochet by Lennutas
Nicknamed Ruby, she’s the “sweetest and cuddliest” dinosaur you’ll ever meet. This Roar-some Dinosaur Crochet by Lennutas earned her spot thanks to her more minimal design. There is also a video tutorial included with the PDF pattern and a photo tutorial provided by the creator.
There is no specific difficulty for this crochet pattern. To complete this pattern, you will need to be able to do these stitches: magic ring/magic circle, chain stitch, single crochet stitch, increase stitch, decrease stitch, slip stitch, and the front loop only. Your finished dinosaur will be around 22 cm in height when made with a semi-cotton sport weight yearn and a hook size 2.3 mm.

With a baby dinosaur pouch, this Dinosaur Crochet Pattern by GennadiShop is a great little project to take on! This is also one of the few patterns that you don’t have to be an expert crocheter to tackle this cute dinosaur pattern.
The skill level required for this crochet dinosaur pattern is easy/beginner. You will need to know how to crochet a magic ring, chain, turning chain, single crochet, increase, decrease, slip stitch, crochet 3 sc together, double crochet, double crochet increase, and treble crochet. Your finished dinosaur will be around 17 cm in height!
