I can’t be the only mom who has a soft spot for the farmhouse theme – and that’s why I had to add a list of the best free farmhouse fonts on Canva! There are so many designs and crafts that these fonts are perfect for, you’d be surprised!
As always, I’ll go ahead and mention that Canva is a simple and free design platform that can create both graphics or help create designs for your DIY projects. Canva offers a free version and a paid membership tier, but we’re going to focus on the fonts you can use in the free tier!
This collection is one of my personal favorites and is probably the most used list out of them all. I have a colorful farmhouse-style home and more specifically, a kitchen, that I love to create seasonal decor for – so I’m DIYing all year long. Now for each font I’ll do a short description and cover what the font might be used for and just a few other thoughts.
And if you’re looking for more Canva ideas or Canva fonts, you can look through the full Canva collection here.

Best Free Farmhouse Fonts on Canva
There’s the best font for every design or project, so it’s important to consider what you’re using the font for before committing to a favorite. For example, what works best for an Instagram graphic might not work out so well for a Cricut design. You’ll also want to consider the spacing, how much you’re planning on writing, and if it’ll do what you need.
Now, if you’re looking for a font and you’re not sure Farmhouse is the right fit, try looking at these free fantasy fonts on Canva that you can use right now.
Anyway, let’s look at the best farmhouse fonts on Canva you can use for free:
#1. Nixie One
The Nixie One free font on Canva immediately made me think of the font on Egg cartons or the classical style of ‘eggs’ on farmhouse decor. While the font is a little on the thin side, it’s not the thinnest and the typewriter style makes it the perfect fit for a project that needs to be easy to read. Still, it’s not my preferred font for cutting – we’ll get to that one in a little bit.
#2. Better Saturday
The first handwritten font on the list, Better Saturday on Canva is a whimsical farmhouse font with a calligraphy feel. With the thicks and thins in the lettering, it’s very aesthetically pleasing. This font would be ideal for print, but not for smaller cuts where the thinning portions would be hard to place.
#3. Old Standard
Another classical ‘farmhouse’ style font to use, the Old Standard is a great option when you need something easy to read, print, or a larger cut on Cricut or a similar cutting machine. The extra curves or flairs on the letter make the font even more pleasing for projects, but it’s probably not what you’re looking for if you want a more modern look.
#4. Lovely
My favorite handwritten font on the list, Lovely is my favorite farmhouse font on Canva for designs and prints. The closeness of the letters and the smoothness of their connection is just perfect. I would love to see this font on a cute farmhouse sweater or a kitchen sign.
#5. Girassol
This is the font that I like to use for projects in my home. The Girassol free font on Canva is easy to read and ideal for prints, designs, and cuts. You can do a modern farmhouse design or a classic farmhouse design, both are great fits for the font. This font would look great on a sign in your home or as a print.
#6. Best Light
What’s a farmhouse font list without a font that looks good as ‘gather’ ‘give’ or ‘thankful’? This is the best font for those seasonal prints or styles, but it’s a little thin to be a great option for cut designs. This font would be great as a focus or paired with a regular type font.
#7. Atteron
The only font that is in all-caps naturally on the list today, Atteron is a great modern farmhouse font that you can find for free on Canva. Atteron is a great option for just about anything and would look good on labels, home signs, and your personal graphics.
#8. Vintage Rotter
Just FYI, I actually used to work at a Farmer’s Market and the Vintage Rotter is the font that matches the theme the best out of the handwritten fonts. This font would look great on signage, would be good for cuts, and look perfect on designs. Its even lettering and style make it a very adaptable option – probably the most adaptable on the list.
#9. Chamomile
Last, but definitely not least on the list is Chamomile, a rustic classic font on Canva. This is another diverse font that will fit many different project requirements. This may or may not be good for a cut project and you should try a small piece of material before committing to the full design or cut.
Other Farmhouse Fonts You Might Love…
Free fonts can get you pretty far, but if there are none that fit the look you’re aiming for, a custom font can take its place! Most custom fonts are pretty affordable, ranging anywhere from $1 to $10 (most of the time), and can even come in sets of two or more. Plus, uploading your custom fonts to your Canva account isn’t difficult at all – and if you’re using the font for a Cricut project, you may even be able to upload it to your Cricut design space.
Here are some of the Farmhouse fonts I love that are custom/paid, but are still affordable and easy to use:
Farmhouse is such a fun theme for designs and projects, but you can always take a look at a variety of styles based on your idea or upcoming project. Some of my favorites that you can find in Canva are these Halloween fonts and Christmas fonts (yes, I’m a seasonal gal)!
