9 Free Fantasy Fonts on Canva You Can Use Right Now

There’s nothing wrong with using the tools that are available to use to easily create crafts, designs, and more – like Canva. In this specific case, we’re talking about projects that are looking for fantasy fonts on Canva. Even more specifically, we’re talking about FREE fantasy fonts on Canva.

As a crafter of over 10 years and a designer for 5 of them, Canva is a design platform that I’m VERY familiar with. I’ve used a majority of their fonts and elements and have a good eye for picking out some of the best for each purpose. So, rather than scroll through a couple hundred fonts on your own, you can use this simple list to find the fantasy font you need!

Here are my favorite free fantasy fonts on Canva right now:

The Top Fantasy Fonts on Canva Right Now

Fantasy fonts come in different styles – you have fonts that are whimsical, witchy, fairytale, and more. There’s a lot of diversity depending on the fantasy theme you’re looking for. As you look through the list, you want to consider the type of project you’re doing (if you’re designing graphics or using a Cricut cutter) and if that font is realistically usable. I like to try different font types, so you’ll see some thin, block, and cursive fonts mixed in.

If you’re looking for a specific font design and you don’t feel like “fantasy” is the right way to describe it, check out our complete collection of Canva fonts and design hacks here.

Now, let’s take a look at the TOP free Canva fonts you can use for your fantasy craft or design projects this year:

#1. Aniyah

Aniyah Canva Fantasy Font | Disney Fairytale Font in Canva

The Aniyah Canva font feels very mystical and magical. Its a mix of a classic fairytale story book font with an medieval enchanted look. It’s the kind of look that’s the first sentence in an old book. This would be perfect for graphics or even a screen printed shirt. On the other hand, the swishes are a little too thin for small cricut designs to cut and stick cleanly.

#2. Reborn

Although it’s not very customizable in style, the Reborn free fantasy font on Canva is one of my favorites. The different sized letters along with the flares at the bottom and aggressive points at the top of some make me think of Disney Pixar’s Brave. This font would be perfect for any designs regarding magical lore or mythology.

#3. Railey

Railey Fairy Tale Font on Canva | The Hobby Mom

Railey is a Canva font that is on the opposite spectrum of some of the other fonts on the list, although it feels like a classic in a different way. It very much gives a Disney princess or fairy tale feel, but in the handwriting or cursive style.

#4. TAN Meringue

Tan Meringue Mythical Font on Canva | The Hobby Mom

Tan Meringue is one of my absolute favorite free fantasy and mythical fonts on Canva. It’s my go-to for anything in that space, at least, when it makes sense. Although this font is gorgeous, it can make some projects more difficult than they ought to be – like cutting on a Cricut of using it to design your own SVGs. Tan Meringue does have a lowercase and uppercase style available.

#4. Anaktoria

If you’re looking for ancient text via an old mystical notebook, the Anaktoria font on Canva matches the vibe! I love that Anaktoria is not your traditional fantasy font, but still has a place in storytelling and fairytales. It’s not exactly a calligraphy or a traditional script font, making this font all the more enjoyable and unique.

#5. Kitsch Display

Very old age, very King Arthur, very ‘my knight’ themed is the free fantasy Canva font Kitsch Display. I like this font because it’s very easy to use and read – no super thin lines, nothing overly complicated, and no extras that hang to low or sit too high for your designs.

#6. Kingred Modern

A softer combination of Tan Menrigue and Kitsch Modern, the Kingred Modern magical themed font on Canva is the stuff that legends are made of! It’s the perfect combination of a formal display font mixed with non-traditional to give the “mystical” vibe you’re searching for in your designs.3

#7. Waymar Script

Waymar Script Magical Romance Free Canva Font | The Hobby Mom

This screams old wizard or romance fantasy, at least in my opinion. That’s why I had to mention Waymar Script in this list of free fantasy fonts on Canva. This script is beautiful and whimsical, making it perfect when you need to use something a bit more formal for your designs.

#8. TAN Giok

A very simple option for a magical Canva font, TAN Giok makes me think of long quests or stories written and told by old Disney. I love this font because it’s very straightforward in it’s design, but still gives the mystical fairy-tale look that you need for your work and designs.

#9. Huova

Maybe it’s just me seeing one of my favorite games in everything I do, but I think the Huova font on Canva is the perfect font to use for anything related to Skyrim – or adventurous dragon related characters or stories. But, this is what makes Huova on our last bit on the list!

Other Fantasy Fonts You Might Love…

While free fonts on Canva are great when you’re looking for a budget friendly design, they’re not always the best for your project! And depending on what you’re creating, you might need to use fonts across multiple design platforms – which means a Canva-exclusive font won’t be ideal. I personally tend to find some of the best affordable fonts on Etsy!
